I am a Scottish born artist.

My work is usually a combination of either pure automatic technique from start to finish without referencing, or manipulating reference to express ideas and situations in a variety of ways.

Experimentation is pretty much paramount and a fundamental aspect of a progressing philosophy. Fun, curiosity and exploitation of materials as a means to an open-ended enquiry, not to be deliberately different - we just all are.

Travel is inspiring and research I have found is very worthwhile, as, it extends the mind through communication within/without.

One thing seems certain regardless where one travel's, it is that there is a common thread that pulls and pushes people from place to place. Quite simply put we are all searching for something but we all communicate this something in different ways.

Painting is very much a hands on and fortunately an unpredictable experience with the more you do the more you learn through observation, thus a unique relationship is formed from piece to piece.
